Experience the beauty and power of working with horses in a variety of ways and benefit from their gentle, non-judgmental presence.
Two feet move your body.
Four feet move your soul.
Horses are said to be our mirror. They can read our posture, facial expressions and even our emotions. The difference between horses and people is that horses don’t care about your physical appearance, they don’t need to know what your story is. All they are concerned with is who you are being when you are in their presence.
Horses don’t have the ability to lie. If you are putting out anger or aggression, they will most likely choose to stay as far away from you as they possibly can. If you are sad and hurting, they are more apt to stand with you in silence and provide you with comfort and affection. What horses do expect from humans is leadership. As in their herd where they earn their place in the pecking order, your actions must also be worthy of their respect.
There is such magic in connecting with a creature with such a strong fight or flight instinct, an animal with the power and size to crush a human yet they choose the path of peace and prefer to live in harmony with us. Even though they are not verbal, they have the ability to communicate very clearly if we pay attention and listen. The smallest of gestures mean something.
There are many horse/human parallels in the way herds and people seek and need strong leadership and clear communication in their lives. Horses respond to our behaviors and energy (positive or negative) and provide us with feedback and a unique way to learn and discover more about ourselves. Horses have much to teach us about authenticity, trust and integrity, and they do it in the most amazing and powerful ways. Join us and discover a new way to grow as a person.

Cleo is an 8 year old paint mare. She is a very special horse who is a little different. As a foal, she got her head stuck in a bale feeder and actually broke a bone in her neck. Many people would have euthanized this sweet little horse, but her owner gave me the chance to work with vets, chiropractors and massage therapists and rehabilitate her from this devastating injury. She was gifted to me by her owner when she was two and is an absolute treasure. Her journey has been a long one, but as a result, she and I have such a deep and trusting bond. She understands that humans are there to help her and now she is helping people. She is the kindest and most gentle of spirits and people absolutely adore her, even those who are afraid of horses.
Nugget
Nugget is an elderly appaloosa gelding who joined our family just over a year ago. He is in his early 20’s and has spent much of his life as a pet. His owner could no longer keep him and wanted him to have a good home to live out his days. He is a very handsome palomino and you would never know that he’s an appaloosa as he doesn’t have much in the way of spots. He’s a big guy and will do just about anything for a cookie–even at his age he is a very quick learner. He was never officially broke to ride and because of his age, I decided not to pursue that avenue. He still needed a purpose, so he joined the team as one of my “teachers”. He showed me his true character recently when he unwaveringly stayed by Cleo’s side for hours and hours when she was sick. He even braved his first night ever in a stall to keep her company, something that not many horses would do. I am so proud of him and love this old gent dearly.
Dakota
Dakota is a beautiful 15 year old Standardbred mare who joined our family this summer. I have known this girl for a while and was very drawn to her from the first time that I saw her. Due to circumstances, her owners had to find her a new home and I was very pleased to have her join our family. She raced earlier in her life and has been a pleasure riding and driving horse for a number of years. She has a wonderful personality and I love how she continues to blossom every day. She is calm and steady; a clear communicator and has the life experience that makes her perfect for her role as a teacher. It didn’t take her long to capture my heart and I am thrilled to have her as a part of the team.
Sully
Sully is a 15 year old Arabian gelding who joined my family three years ago when his owner kindly offered him to me as he “needed a job”. He was a “pasture potato” for a number of years not having been ridden for a long time. I brought him home, hopped on his back and the rest was history. He had not forgotten any of his earlier training. This boy has been absolutely amazing. He is very smart and takes everything that I throw at him in stride. He is spirited, smart, bold and stunningly beautiful in true Arabian fashion. He is one very special guy and he is one of my favorites.
Jacob
Jacob is a 12 year old quarter horse gelding who has been with me since he was three years old. He chose me when he was a cute little two year old. He would approach me in the pasture and lay his head on my shoulder. I ended up purchasing him for my daughter and saving him from a trip to the auction as his owners were reducing the size of their herd. He has been a part of our family ever since. He is a very sweet and kind little horse and a much loved member of my family.
Sonny
Sonny is an 11 year old Appendix Quarter Horse gelding. He was a very sick baby and almost died due to illness. He has a huge personality and when he was young, he was greatly misunderstood. I could see something very special inside of him and knew he needed time and patience. The time and patience has paid off greatly and he has become a beautiful, trustworthy and regal partner and one of the most solid horses on my team. He is a very magnificent and special horse.
Royal
Royal is a 12 year old solid paint gelding. He joined our family in December but he is no stranger to me. I have had the pleasure of caring for this guy for about 10 years and his owner finally agreed to part with him much to my joy. He is a special horse, huge in stature and stunningly beautiful. He is very intuitive and has a very keen ability to sense emotions in people. He has been known to approach me, leaving the herd when he senses that I am not right and will stay with me as long as I need him, his head against my chest, eyes closed. He is a half brother to Cleo and Jacob and is Sully’s very best friend. I am beyond happy to have him join this amazing equine team.
